Folsom, California, September 18 to 22, 2023. The club’s 25th Anniversary National Meet, hosted by the Pacific Coast Region with Bert Babick in the lead car each day. Fifty-four members and fifteen cars came from as near as the San Francisco Bay Area and as far as Canada, with cars plated in eight states, and stayed at the Folsom Inn beside Folsom Lake.

Tuesday, September 19

Day one covered 75 miles through the foothills to Ione and Plymouth: a second breakfast at the Castle Oaks Golf Club in Ione, lunch under the canopy at the Toscano Winery in Plymouth, and back at the Folsom Inn a tech session on electronic ignition for the men while the ladies took tea in the courtyard.

Wednesday, September 20

Roseville: brunch at the Pacific Street Café beneath its ceiling model railroad, the Carnegie Museum with its Gold Rush and Wild West collections, and a docent-led walking tour of the town. The annual club meeting followed at 7 pm in the courtyard, beside a display of 25 years of national meets.

Thursday, September 21

Past Folsom Dam and Folsom Lake to historic Auburn, with its courthouse and museum from the Gold Rush days. The banquet that evening at the Folsom Inn brought the club’s first silent auction, the William C. Durant Award for Mike Babick, an anniversary cake and music into the night.

Bert Babick, founding member and host of this meet, died shortly afterwards; the club’s Spring Fling is now the Bert Babick Memorial Tour.
