The Durant Motors Automobile Club (DMAC) is a volunteer-run, non-profit club for owners and admirers of cars built by Durant Motors and its affiliated makes. This page explains what information durantmotors.org and the club’s social media collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Membership applications and renewals. When you join or renew, you send us your name, mailing address, phone number, email address and details of your cars. We use this to run the club: to send you The Durant Partner, keep the membership roster, and contact you about club business and events. The roster is shared only with club members.
- Payments. Dues, store orders and donations are paid by check or through PayPal, Zelle or Google Pay. Those services process your payment under their own privacy policies. We only receive a record of the payment, never your card or bank details.
- Emails, articles, photos and classified ads that you send to officers or the editor. We use them to answer you and, when you submit them for publication, in The Durant Partner, on this website or on the club’s Facebook page, credited to you unless you ask otherwise.
Information collected when you visit the website
- Visitor statistics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit and Google Tag Manager) to see which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from and what devices they use. Google sets cookies to do this. The data is used only to improve the site. You can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
- Members-only pages. When you enter the members’ password, the site stores a cookie so you stay signed in to those pages. It does not identify you personally.
- Hosting and security. The site is hosted by Hostinger, which, like all web hosts, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance.
Facebook and other social media
The club runs a Facebook page. The club’s officers use a private Facebook app, managed by the webmaster, to share website articles and photos to that page and, with the owner’s permission, to feature photos members post there on this website with credit. The app only works with the club’s own page. We do not collect personal information about Facebook users through it, and anything you post on Facebook is also covered by Meta’s privacy policy. If you would like a photo of yours removed from our website, contact us and we will take it down.
What we don’t do
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with club officers who need it to do their club jobs, or when the law requires it.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or remove the information we hold about you, or ask to be left out of the printed roster, by contacting the Treasurer / Membership officer listed in The Durant Partner.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
